Cafeteria Position Description

Candidate will perform a wide range of duties involved with preparing and/or serving food. May perform such duties as preparing salad items, hot and or cold foods and/or assist in the preparation of bakery items. Assist in cleaning work areas, equipment, and dishes. May perform cashiering duties while following the School Nutrition Guidelines.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or GED) preferred
- Ability to understand and carry out basic kitchen instructions
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs. frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally
- Skill in cooking and preparing a variety of foods
- Works efficiently in a fast paced environment
Responsibilities/Job Duties
- Follows procedures in setting up hot and cold food lines.
- Prepares or assists in the preparation of hot or cold foods.
- Serves food to high school age children
- As needed, replenishes foods, condiments, beverages, paper products, and serving trays.
- Clean and maintain work areas.
- Washes pots, pans, and other service ware ensuring sanitary handling.
- May perform cashiering duties following the regulations set fourth by the National School Lunch Program
- Table washing
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- May require handling of objects up to 50 lbs. More often up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to be on your feet for your scheduled shift.
- Work involves using sanitizer products and equipment cleaning chemicals.
