Machinist

Job Summary
Produce machined parts through setting up and operation of CNC machines while always maintaining quality and safety standards as well as making program improvements and repairing machines.

Responsibilities of a Machinist:
  • Set-up and operate CNC vertical mills and 4 axis live tooling lathes
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, drawings, and job orders
  • Load and unload parts
  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions
  • Perform assigned preventative maintenance
  • Make program improvement and repair machines
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, and instructions
  • Maintain a neat work area

Skills of a Machinist:
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, or various measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to work well independently and as a team
  • Must be self-starter able to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Must possess a sense of urgency and accountability

Qualification of a Machinist:
  • Minimum 5 years of machining experience in manufacturing environment
  • Capable of lifting up to but not limited to 50lbs
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods

Job Detail of a Machinist:
  • Full time with benefit or part time without benefit
  • Day shift 6 AM-2:30 PM Monday through Friday
  • Swing shift 3 PM-1:30 AM Monday through Thursday
  • Wage $17/hour or DOE

Essential Functions of a Machinist:
  • Perform a self-administered COVID-19 Antigen test (swab nose, spit in tube) and breathing well with face covering that meets CDC guidance OR be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
  • Standing for long period of time
  • Use of upper body, arms, and hands throughout the day
  • Lifting 20-50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching overhead throughout the day to reach materials to move or pickup
