Industrial Engineer – Electro-Mechanical Production

Job Summary
An Industrial Production Engineer is responsible for industrial engineering support for products after development is completed and when they are released to production. Production Engineers understand how to leverage current manufacturing capabilities to streamline the manufacture of current and new product design. Production Engineers can lead cross functional teams to resolve any technical and product specific manufacturing issues that arise and to continuously improve production processes and the quality of the products produced.
 
Job Responsibilities of an Industrial Production Engineer:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve new or reoccurring manufacturing issues of technical products
  • Research manufacturing techniques to support assigned projects
  • Develops technical expertise on all assigned products
  • Improves test protocols, work instructions and fixturing
  • Provide design for manufacturability feedback to engineering and development teams.
  • Participates as a member of technical review boards for applicable projects
  • Creates Engineering Change Requests (ECR)
  • Understands and conducts work practices in compliance with current QMS
  • Work closely with the Quality team to reduce internal and external quality failures

Skills of an Industrial Production Engineer:
  • Ability to lead large projects 
  • Ability to communicate independently and effectively with all levels of management
  • Advanced knowledge of production and process techniques
 
Qualifications of an Industrial Production Engineer:
  • Bachelors in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent with 5 years experience
  • Coursework in Design for Manufacturability a plus
  • Certification in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing training a plus

Essential Functions of an Industrial Production Engineer:
  • Breathing well with face covering that meets CDC guidance (when required)
  • Use of upper body, arms, and hands throughout the day
  • Lifting 10-20 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching overhead throughout the day to reach materials to move or pickup
  • Normal color vision (due to different colored wires)
  • Able to work regularly with epoxy, glues, sealants
