How You Will Contribute
  • Provides expertise in all of Application, Data and Infrastructure Architectural models and designs
  • Documents architecture diagrams, designs and strategies across platform
  • Ability to lead effort breaking up large scale business problems into units of work achievable within our standard SDLC
  • Leads and owns process of understanding root causes of production issues, development hurdles, and timeline changes
  • Designs technology solutions in accordance with architectural standards, as well as long- and short-term implications of design decisions
  • Ability to independently analyze strengths and weaknesses of new technologies, new approaches within our codebase, new vendors, and organizational needs
  • Independently researches and understands industry trends from both a technical and a domain perspective
  • Comfortable leading technical training sessions in areas of expertise
  • Able to recommend learning paths for development teams in accordance with new trends and technologies
  • Able to teach programming concepts, debug and code review existing code with development teams
  • Applies architectural and engineering concepts to design a solution that meets operational requirements such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability
  • Responsible for identifying architecture improvements and design patterns to support department and organization goals
  • Participates in all phases of the SDLC, from roadmap and planning through production release, to ensure and verify that the design meets defined business requirements
  • Responsible for providing high level work estimate assessments for relevant development projects
  • Participates in prototyping pre-development work, fail fast efforts, and creation of new patterns and approaches
  • Involves regular and direct engagement with internal and external subject matter experts and stakeholders across several technical and business domains


For Consideration You Will Have
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience delivering software products/services
  • 10+ years of hands-on design and implementation of technical business solutions preferred
  • Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation 
  • Ability to lead and facilitate small group discussions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parties across a wide range of technical experience levels
  • Ability to understand the long and short-term implications of design decisions
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of individual solution architecture alternatives 
  • Demonstrated experience  with microservices, SOA, or domain driven design
  • Advanced understanding of Object Oriented programming and algorithms
  • Advanced understanding of SOLID principles and design patterns
  • Competency with SQL and performance tuning
  • Experience with NoSQL DB concepts
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
  • Experience with Python, Django, PostgreSQL preferred
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse business systems, technologies and processing environments.
