Your cover letter must demonstrate:

Your resume should show us:
  • Bachelor’s of Science in biology, zoology, botany, environmental engineering, forestry, or other applicable applied science
  • Understanding of applied environmental impact assessment/effects assessment process and methods
  • Knowledge of municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulatory review processes including regulations, guidelines, and standards
  • Experience using quantitative methods for assessing, vegetation, wildlife, water quality, groundwater, surface water, fish habitat, or soil contamination
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Worksafe BC First Aid certification
  • Electrofishing certification

Bonus points for:
  • Experience in an applied consulting setting

A Little More About the Role
The ideal candidate will hold a valid driver’s license, as occasional out of town travel will be required. Travel can be for up to 10 days at a time and could include remote locations. The nature of the position may, from time-to-time, require weekend work and work with variable hours, including overtime.
  • Delivery of baseline environmental assessment of aquatic, terrestrial and vegetation resources
  • Construction environmental monitoring and erosion and sediment control inspection
  • Assist in the development of the appropriate reports, mitigation strategies, and preparation of regulatory applications
  • Assist Project Managers, Biologists, Environmental Scientists, in the delivery of environmental assessments
  • Participate in aquatic, terrestrial and/or vegetation field investigations following approved work scopes and standards
  • Completion of field investigations and data collection to support environmental assessment, impact assessment and mitigation planning
  • Working within project budgets to deliver high-quality environmental consulting assignments
  • Preparation of technical reports and background research
  • Checking technical reports, prepared by others
  • Preparation of environmental management plans

Fieldwork associated with this position can be rigorous and physically demanding and may involve work in steep terrain in wilderness settings, and associated hazards.
