A Little About You

Your cover letter must demonstrate:
  • Your approach to collaboration
  • How you prioritize and organize work, managing multiple projects at a time

Your resume should show us:
  • Degree in civil or structural engineering, building or architectural science, EIT or P.Eng. designation or a combination of education and work experience
  • 3-7 years related professional experience
  • Technical knowledge of building enclosure design and construction principles
  • Experience preparing design packages including drawings and specifications
  • Ability to solve problems using past experience and building science principals
  • Skill in building condition assessments and report writing

Bonus points for:
  • Experience with or the desire to learn more about business development
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam software
  • Previous work experience
  • Experience in building science or energy modelling software

A Little More About the Role

Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate has strong communication and organizational skills and is willing to work extended hours (on occasion) to meet the demands of the cyclical nature of consulting projects. 
 
  • Assisting in the preparation of design packages including drawings and specifications
  • Field review of work in progress to confirm general conformance to the design documents
  • Review documentation (e.g., architectural drawings) to identify areas of risk for water ingress, air leakage, and condensation
  • General contract administration tasks – change orders, site instructions, certificates for payment, etc.
  • Investigations and reports documenting existing conditions and evaluation of future risks
  • Other related duties as assigned

Please note that you will require a valid Driver’s License and reliable means of transportation/vehicle is required.
