Database programmer Analyst- (NYC)

We are currently seeking an experienced Database Programmer Analyst to help build, customize and support the custom software development process within our Fortune 100 Media client onsite in the NYC offices. 
As a Database Programmer Analyst, you will be responsible for  

  • Managing a team of database developers (both off-shore and on-shore) 

  • Partnering with the application development team to design and architect the necessary database objects 

  • Working with the operations team to develop and maintain a support script for common issues

The role is based in Midtown NY - U.S. located, only full time (NO- contractors, Corp-to-Corp or 1099).  
Core responsibilities: 

  • Learn and understand the current Ad Sales architecture as well as anticipate the future needs of the business 

  • Work closely with product management and the lead architect to translate business requirements into highly reusable and performance database objects 

  • Evaluate the current data model and be able to suggest improvements. 

  • Follow the Agile development process, best practices and tools adopted by the team 

  • Communicate with the product teams to ensure software feature requirements are being successfully implemented. 

  • Communicate with 3rd party vendors to establish requirements for integrations 

  • Communicate with software development teams to translate high level business requirements into fine-grained stories so that they can be implemented with a high degree of confidence 

  • Assist the product and development teams to troubleshoot production issues in a timely manner 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

  • Design and document data models  

Skills & Experience: 

  • Education/experience in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field/equivalent experience  

  • 6+ years of experience working with SQL databases 

  1. Experience developing software in a team environment. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Skills a Plus but not required: 

  • Database Programming Skills: Oracle PL/SQL, ANSI SQL 

  • NoSQL Database Skills: MongoDB, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Hadoop 

  • Source Code Control: Git or similar version control tools 
  • Familiarity with Ad Sales platforms such Operative One and Sintec OnAir (or equivalent) and business concepts around Linear and Digital Ad Sales platforms 

  • Experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies for software development process. 

  • Familiarity with project tracking and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence (Wikis)
