Primary function:
The Quality Manager will support the continuing efforts to maintain and improve the quality management system while overseeing all functions of the quality inspector and warranty teams.
Provides leadership and management direction to plant leaders and senior staff to plan, organize, and implement a Quality Focused Improvement culture and principles throughout the plant.
  • Achievement of identified savings in warranty expense and rework through projects utilizing WCM methodologies
  • Achievement of warranty and quality results consistent with plant roadmap/targets

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the company’s quality management system is maintained, effective and continuously improved.
  • Plan and direct all internal quality and auditing programs.
  • Work with customers, suppliers, and all levels of CNH Reman employees to ensure quality components and finished goods are used.
  • Serves as a change agent to challenge the existing processes in place. Uses data to communicate and support the opportunities that exist.
  • Methodological support on various projects effecting warranty rates and quality KPIs.
  • Direct and report on the Quality department’s goals, objectives, and results to internal and external customers and management.

Job specifications
  • Identifying, through the use of, WCM tools, key improvement projects/initiatives within the plant that will deliver optimal savings in either cost/quality/productivity.
  • Coordinate priorities of improvement projects based on Quality metrics.  Lead activities, monitor progress and report status regularly.
  • Talent Developer: Set succession plans for each key position.  Identify and develop team members to support the succession plan.  Provide training opportunities for team members to ensure they are competent and will excel in their job functions.  Work with team members to set career paths for them that match their desires and abilities.

  • Director of Quality: Daily - Influence and negotiate on direction of Focused Improvement Quality initiatives within plant.
  • Human Resource/People Development Director: coordinate training requirements and activities.
  • Plant managers and supervisors: advise and counsel/direct on tools and key projects. 
  • Work with Production, Engineering, Materials, and other departments to ensure an expected quality level that our customers expect and deserve.

Requirements (including minimum education & years of experience):
  • Minimum GED or High School diploma.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field is required such as Engineering with emphasis in mechanical, manufacturing and/or industrial disciplines.  A minimum of six years of work experience is preferred.
  • Able to lead teams for continuous improvement activities and Kaizen events.
  • Good level of knowledge of manufacturing, techniques, production and capacity planning. 
  • Experience and good knowledge in root cause analysis, 4M, 5W1H, etc. tools
  • Must have good computer skills and experience (Microsoft Office Suite, MS PowerPoint, Mat Lab, other statistical software).
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills are necessary.
  • Requiring hours of service that would average at least 30 hours of service per week. Overtime
  • Walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, reaching.  Must be able to read SDS sheet.
