This is a great opportunity to join our team. We are looking for a Director of Education to oversee home health aide/personal aide training . You will perform a range of duties. The ideal candidate for this position has proven experience in a nursing leadership role, outstanding organizational skills, and in-depth knowledge of healthcare industry policies.

1.    Provides HHA/PCA training per DOH specifications.  Monitors and tracks all candidates through the process, including the completion of the HHA/PCA certificate.
2.    Develops and implements on-going Home Health Aide and Personal Care Aide in service training programs based on results of aggregate competencies.
3.    Develops and implements on going education classes for the professional staff. In-service programs are geared to assist staff in maintaining their competency skills.
4.    Ensures that each branch publishes the quarterly in-service program.
5.    Utilizes monitoring and evaluation data to assist with evaluating the effectiveness of in-service training programs and continuously strives to improve their content and delivery.
7.    Assists as needed with the development and implementation of directives and policies that involve the HHA/PCA training. Maintains and/or updates modules per New York state DOH regulations.
8.    Ensures that all training sites meet DOH regulations.
9.    Ensures that all training sites are approved and re-approved as indicated.

Education and Experience
  • Registered Nurse, BSN, preferably Master’s prepared with licensure in the State of New York and home care experience within the last two years.
  • Minimum of three to five years of clinical experience in Community Health.
  • One-year work experience in supervision/administration, preferably in a community health or home health care setting. It is preferred that two years of experience be in training, development and /or recruitment.
  • Basic knowledge of governmental home health agency regulations, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, JCAHO Standards and Performance Improvement standards. 
Additional Abilities
Good organization, communication, human relations skills. Presentation skills, self-motivation, assertiveness and independent decision making skills are essential.
