This is a great opportunity to join our team. We are looking for a Professional Standards to direct and ensure consistent, and appropriate compliance with company policy, procedures and guidelines. You will perform a range of duties. The ideal candidate for this position has proven experience in a nursing leadership role, outstanding organizational skills, and in-depth knowledge of healthcare industry policies.

Responsibilities:
1.    Works in collaboration with the Director of Patient Services in the overall development and administration of clinical care policies and procedures for the organization promoting the highest quality of care.  Participates in periodic review of all patient care management policies.
2.    Responsible for communicating to all employees the Agency's philosophy, Joint Commission and company standards, regulations, policies and procedures.
3.    Directs the recruitment, hiring, and development of sufficient clinical staff  to ensure the delivery of safe and consistent quality care to all patient/clients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Assures that clinical caregivers have demonstrated the ability to perform accurate and complete assessments, communicate with physicians, plan for service delivery, plan for discharge, and make excellent professional decisions.
4.    Participates in Corporate Compliance audit reviews to prevent and detect fraud and abuse and within the Agency utilizing an audit system and procedure to monitor compliance with federal, state and local statutes.  Prepares reports to Corporate Compliance Workgroup Committee and meets with responsible parties to resolve all deficiencies.
5.    Performs all clinical audit functions in all branches to assure compliance with company standards and participates in interdisciplinary case conferences that effectively coordinate communication regarding patient/client problems, needs, psychosocial and spiritual concerns and implementation of an individualized, interrelated plan of care.
6.    Assists Executive Director with community outreach to include RFP proposals to increase referral sources, marketing and presentations that introduce the services our LHCSA company offers.  Assures contract referral source satisfaction & resolves all areas of weakness with responsible parties.
7.    Provides narrative and statistical reports on the clinical patient care services provided by the Agency.
8.    Performs Pre-Survey LCHSA Audits to benchmark the performance in the branches and assist the branch in preparing for state, federal and Joint Commission site visits. Provides immediate actions and intervention to deal with compliance failure.
9.    Develops and directs the records documentation process to ensure that the patient/client’s clinical record meets legal and regulatory requirements, facilitates care, enhances the continuity of care, help coordinate treatment and evaluation of the patient/client, and establishes medical necessity so payers will reimburse for services provided.
11.   Assures HIPAA compliance throughout the organization, develops and writes required mandated HIPAA policy and procedures, acts as Privacy/Security Officer of the organization ensuring that HIPAA guidelines, protocols, compliance and complaints are followed according to agency policies and procedures.  Trains and educates staff on HIPAA compliance.
15.    Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

The candidate must be a Registered Nurse currently registered in the State of New York The candidate must be a licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of New York with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Master’s degree in Nursing public health, business administration or another health related field preferred.  

Additional Abilities
  • At least five years of clinical experience and three years of work management level experience in health care administration in a community health or home health setting.  
  • Strong knowledge of governmental home health agency regulations, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, The Joint Commission Standards and home care policies and procedures are required.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and human relations skills are required.  Self-motivation, assertiveness and independent decision-making skills are essential.
