Position:                 Human Resources Assistant (Canada Summer Jobs)
No of Weeks:         8 weeks
Hours of Work:       35 hours per week

Reports to:             Human Resources Coordinator

Position Summary:
Responsible for providing administrative support to Human Resources programs, including assistance in the recruiting process.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists with recruiting and hiring e.g. resume screening, telephone screening, background checking, documentation
  • Assists with planning and organizing special events
  • Assists with the coordination of orientation and training sessions
  • Provides administrative support for other duties as assigned

Education: 
  • Pursuing or completed Human Resources Management diploma, degree or certificate with recognized college or university

Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Detail oriented and resourceful with the ability to take initiative
  • Strong time management, organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to work both independently and effectively with other team members.

Other:
  • Vulnerable Sector screening required
  • Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or Medical Exemption certificate required
Requirements:
To be eligible, applicants must be:
  • between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
  • a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment. Please note that International students are not eligible to apply.
  • legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with provincial legislation and regulations.
