Role Summary
The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for identifying and sourcing weddings, rehearsal dinners,
mitzvahs, and special functions in accordance with the collection’s strategic plan to maximize revenue
during peak and nonpeak periods. The Catering Sales Manager reports directly to the Area Director of Sales
and Marketing and works closely with each hotel’s revenue manager and executive committee to ensure
that the leisure and transient sales strategy is in line with properties business needs. The position currently
represents Mayflower Inn & Spa.

Core Responsibilities
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done!  Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their team-mates.   Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
  • Oversee account and production goal in the assigned region
  • Support the collection revenue goals by generating catering/banquet (inclusive of rooms related revenues) business at Mayflower Inn & Spa
  • Organize and schedule direct sales efforts via phone, email, and in-person. An average of 5 prospecting efforts per day is expected. (25 per week)
  • The schedule will flex based on business demand, and event execution however standard hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm. The position requires mandatory attendance at scheduled site inspections, event kick-off, and event conclusion. The position also requires a scheduled file turn over to the Catering Services Manager
  • Evaluate and initiate opportunities for developing new sources of business
  • Plan and execute a 12-month strategic business plan
  • Play a key role in the development of the hotels' leisure marketing plan
  • Support the hotels' wholesale account strategy
  • Support and participate in daily calls with Area Director of Revenue, weekly Revenue Management Calls and monthly conference calls with Regional Director of Sales and property-specific calls as needed
  • Accurately maintain and build Salesforce database of clients. Responsible for the overall accuracy of the regional database
  • Abide by all policies and procedure of Auberge Resorts
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards of sales service
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor and to conduct personal behavior in a mature and professional business manner while representing the company
  • Travel and work flexible days and hours
  • Keep department heads informed of problems so as to ensure prompt correction and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Be available to work on-property as required
  • Establish appropriate remote workstation, answer the phone and respond to emails in a timely fashion.
  • Phone calls are to be returned the same day and RFP’s have a 24 hour response time.
  • Provide positive, proactive engagement with the property hotel General Managers and Area Director of Sales and Marketing.
  • Provide feedback and goals and objectives in preparation of annual sales plans and budgets.
  • Ensure effective leisure pricing strategies are properly communicated to leisure clients.
  • Assist Area Director of Sales & Marketing as needed on corporate initiatives.
  • Establishes initiatives and executes direct sales objectives to promote Auberge Resorts brand.
  • Develops regional planning and strategies to increase brand exposure.
  • Evaluates promotional events, trade shows, community, and industry events to make sure attendance produces the proper return on investment.
  • Maintain customer, trade, industry and staff relations.
  • Target key accounts to host familiarization trips to increase ROI
  • Work with tourism organization to maximize regional opportunities and buying power
  • Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience in a related position in a luxury hotel sales environment
  • Demonstrated record of driving sales revenues in a hotel environment
Desirable
  • Prior experience selling multiple properties or brand.
  • Prior experience in international hotels/resorts
  • Prior experience working in a remote sales office setting.
  • Prior experience working with professional organizations that support leisure / Transient 
  • Knowledge of Lanyon System
  • Knowledge of GDS, Virtuoso.com, AMEX FHR Portal
Travel Requirements
  • Travel domestically to promote collection at trade shows or regional sales missions.
  • Travel to resorts as requested for sites, meetings and travel professional related fams.
  • Travel for internal sales and marketing meetings.
  • Travel to assist with limited on-site coverage as needed.
