Description:
The ideal individual will have 2 to 8 years of mechanical engineering experience in designing and building mechanical systems, such as hydraulics, structures, and general machine design.  Familiarity with finite element analysis highly desirable.  This individual should have good understanding of engineering fundamentals and be creative in developing solutions to design problems.    

Navatek is looking for talented professionals with the following qualifications:
  • Creative in developing problem solutions
  • 2D and 3D modeling experience required
  • Knowledge of composites and advanced materials
  • Knowledge of machine design, structures, hydrodynamics
  • Experienced in finite element analysis
  • Knowledge of naval architecture helpful
  • Instrumentation experience as related to testing (accelerometers, strain gages, motion sensors, data acquisition)
  • Good oral and writing skills
  • Familiarity with boats and testing at sea, or at tank facilities helpful


Basic Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent from an accredited college or university
    OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent from an accredited college or university and 10+ years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineering position.
  • U.S. Citizenship 

This position will be located in San Diego, California. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing an employee background check and post-offer drug screen.
