The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is currently accepting applications for Spring 2020 internships in multiple departments. The Spring 2020 Internship Program will begin on Tuesday, January 21 and end on Friday, April 17. Spring internships require a commitment of at least two days per week, with the number of hours depending on the availability of the student and preference of the department. Candidates must be current college juniors or seniors, or current graduate students to be considered.

We are pleased to offer $500 stipends to all undergraduate students and $1,000 stipends to all graduate students who are accepted into the Spring 2020 Internship Program.

The application deadline for Spring 2020 internships is November 1, 2019.

Internship Program Description

The objective of the Guggenheim Museum Internship Program is to provide practical training experience to students interested in pursuing careers in the arts and museum fields. Interns gain a broad understanding of how a particular department functions within the context of a major museum, as well as specific skills related to that department’s activities. Interns are assigned based on academic background, professional skills, interests, and career goals. Under the supervision of designated staff members, interns participate in the ongoing work of museum departments, complete individual projects, and contribute to larger Guggenheim initiatives.

Museum Culture Seminars

Museum Culture Seminars form an integral part of our Internship Program. Site visits to other New York arts and cultural institutions, and discussions with a wide array of arts and museum professionals are facilitated. A field trip outside of New York City is planned for the end of each internship period.
