Liquid Engineering Corporation (LEC), located in Billings, MT, a division of Pittsburg Tank & Tower Group, currently has job opportunities available for experienced potable water dive crew team leaders. The ideal candidate will not only be able to work at great heights, be away from home for extended periods, and act as a qualified diver, but also be able to supervise LEC dive team operations associated with the cleaning, inspection and repair of potable water tanks and towers. Job Summary:

The LEC Team Leader’s primary duties are in supervision of potable water diving operations and include:

  • Establishing daily dive plans.
  • Providing leadership and direction to dive crew team members.
  • Conducting on-the-job training of non-qualified dive team members.
  • Acting as LEC’s on-site safety representative while being cognizant of applicable safety regulations and best practices associated with inland commercial diving and potable water operations.
  • Ensuring a high level of workmanship is practiced throughout assigned diving operations by being cognizant of LEC standard, procedures and best practices.
  • Interacting with customers and providing customer service.
  • Handling company funds, following company schedules, and maintain company administrative procedures.
  • Ensuring care and maintenance of LEC equipment.
  • Evaluating crew team member performance in a constructive manner.

The LEC Team Leader’s additional duties are in normal support of potable water diving operations and include normal job duties of an LEC qualified diver/tender. (See diver/tender job posting for more information)


An LEC team leader must meet all requirement necessary to be considered an LEC qualified diver/tender and:
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months of previous potable water diving experience.
  • Must have a positive attitude and the ability to provide positive direction to junior team members.
  • Must have the ability to make decisions and take decisive action in a positive manner.
  • Must be able to give and take feedback from upper management in a constructive manner.
  • Must have the ability to problem solve and take positive corrective actions.
  • Must have a high level of knowledge of applicable safety policies and procedures.
  • Must have the ability to direct appropriate team actions in the event of an emergency.
