Position Summary:
The PM has oversight of the deliverables and status of PSI projects, to ensure program goals are met.  The PM will execute impactful programs/projects as assigned and serve as a change agent driving adoption of the project’s life cycle.  The PM is responsible for high quality deliverables on-time, within budget, and with high customer satisfaction. The PM initiates, plans, and executes projects by developing a cohesive team of resources, defining the scope of work, forecasting the schedule, and defining the budget. The PM is responsible to provide direction, prioritization and structure to enable successful, timely completion of projects.  Additionally, the PM is responsible for risk analysis, contract management and stakeholder communications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Governance of the projects with oversight and responsibility of the performance objectives.  This includes establishing metrics to indicate the health and progress of ongoing projects
  • Ensure the shipyard program supports the management’s higher-level vision, goals, and financial objectives
  • Execute regular assessments and review accountability to ensure the successful management of projects
  • Continuously measure the performance of the program, research and develop new procedures and systemically apply learning and knowledge to the program

Working Conditions/Job Environment:
This position requires working outside in the elements as well as an office environment with the following characteristics:
  • Fast paced work environment with, in and around industrial machinery
  • Must be able to stand, walk, crawl, climb, push, pull, kneel, bend, and reach frequently and for extended periods of time.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions
  • Maybe be exposed to loud noises, smells fumes and environmental conditions commonly found at operational shipyard locations
  • Required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly and on occasion up to 75 pounds with or without reasonable assistance
  • Capable of becoming certified to operate all equipment and machinery used daily
  • The incumbent must utilize a vehicle to travel to project sites on a regular basis

  • Engineering degree highly preferred
  • 10 years of industry experience or a combination of experience and degree with demonstrated success
  • Familiarity with federal contract regulations, DOD and NAVSEA regulations and U.S. Navy vessel experience a plus
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems.  Must be experienced with MS Project, MS Office suite including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and internet navigation
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule, this includes evenings and weekends as the workload dictates

  • Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States
  • This position requires US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access
  • Must be able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Must be able to successfully obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
  • Valid State of Hawaii drivers’ license in good standing, class 3 or higher
