Sellen’s Marketing and Communications Assistant will work as part of a dynamic team of creatives to tell the Sellen story. This candidate will have a love of learning and focused curiosity to craft compelling written narrative in support of Sellen’s strategic plan. The Marketing and Communications Assistant will work closely with the marketing manager and director to develop and exercise his or her writing talents; learn about the construction industry and Sellen brand; and produce original, lasting content for internal and external communications. This is an entry-level marketing position with room for growth.

A day in the life of our Marketing and Communications Assistant:

  • Create original, captivating written content about Sellen’s clients, people and projects that aligns with the Sellen brand through in-person interviews and research. This includes, but is not limited to stories for social media, newsletters, website, proposals, magazines, presentations, award submissions, external publications, and authored articles.
  • Contribute to the coordination and development of event and project-related materials.
  • Assist with the organization, tracking and maintenance of Sellen’s CRM and internal databases.
  • Manage the marketing supplies, vendor coordination, and other marketing-related administrative tasks.

This candidate will have exceptional communication and writing skills and a keen ability to translate technical information into easy-to-understand language. With a resourceful nature, strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative, the Marketing and Communications Assistant will deliver high-quality written content within tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will enjoy both working independently and within a creative team atmosphere.  An eye for design is a plus.  

Position Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field (or equivalent applicable work experience). Strong written and verbal communications skills along with strong attention to detail. Experience using MS Office suite. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and AP writing style is a plus.
