JOB DESCRIPTION

Schnake Turnbo Frank is a consulting firm that specializes in public relations and leadership development. For 51 years we’ve been serving clients nationwide.  This position provides strategic counsel and tactical support to various clients, serves as the day-to-day point of contact for clients and project managers, and assists with business development and promotion of the firm to potential new clients. Client projects will include public relations, nonprofit donor development, leadership development services. This position will act as a client relationship manager, will oversee several clients at a time and should have the ability to manage multiple projects with different and converging timelines.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management
  • Coordinate and manage all service offerings and team members working with the client. Oversee the financial management of the client relationship.
  • Serve as single point-of-contact for assigned client projects. Communicate regularly with the client to provide project updates, answer questions, share new ideas, address concerns, and build and strengthen the client/firm relationship.
  • Ascertain client needs/solutions and create and execute strategy to fulfill those needs.
  • Be abreast of the status of all service areas involved with the client and manage timely execution of duties and project responsibilities.
  • Proposal creation which involves a holistic approach to consideration of service offerings based on the client need.
  • Proposal presentation to a prospect and ongoing timely contact with them until a contract is approved or refused.
  • Conduct regular internal meetings with all members of the STF team involved with the client to discuss progress on project goals, share service area updates, develop strategy and brainstorm new, value-added ideas for the client.
  • Regularly scan the scope of the relationship with the client to determine areas of vulnerability and potential.
  • Be responsible for the extension or renewal of the current client agreement.

  • Meets and communicates regularly with clients to provide counsel and support on a number of issues for all the firm’s service offerings

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Services
  • Leverage DE&I in media relations, communications, community relations, digital and social engagement, and other client initiatives.
  • Contribute to planning, execution and facilitation of programming, including the Inclusion & Diversity Consortium, Inclusion & Diversity Summit, and Leadership & Reputation Academy.

Business Development and Company Support
  • Assists in promotion and marketing of the firm.
  • Encourages business development by promoting the firm to potential new clients.
  • Practices and maintains strong internal communications.
  • Provides support to the management and other account team members, as assigned.
  • Demonstrates active participation and leadership in civic and charitable activities.
  • Maintains good working relationships with community groups, including nonprofit, civic, education, civic, cultural and others.
  • Represents the firm at a variety of external functions.

Community Service
  • Demonstrates active participation and leadership in civic and charitable activities.

EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in public relations, journalism, marketing, talent and leadership development, and/or public affairs.
  • PREFERRED: Extensive background in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven skills in counseling for internal and external clients.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, high energy level, good listening skills and solid professional ethics. Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are a must.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.  PowerPoint skills preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the partners, management team and account team members and other staff.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work effectively with team members through both in-person and work-from-home environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff.
  • All equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks will be provided including laptop and cell phone. 
  • Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with other staff members and general public. 
  • Must be able to travel to client offices and other firm locations as required (NOTE: during the COVID outbreak no STF employee is required to participate in any in-person meetings.)
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and adapt to a changing environment and changing procedures. 
  • Requires finger dexterity for keyboarding, visual skills for reading and clear verbal skills for communicating over the telephone and in person.

COMPENSATION
  • The salary range for this position is $60-$70k based on experience.
  • Position may be eligible for annual bonus.
  • Opportunity to earn commission for recruitment of new clients.
