SUMMARY
The Vice President is responsible for the leadership and management of assigned accounts, providing professional counsel to clients, business development and community involvement. This position’s emphasis will be in working with the firm’s nonprofit donor development practice. As such, the person in this position should maintain ongoing relationships with nonprofits, foundations, philanthropists, business and civic leaders, as well as local boards and associations.

The Vice President will work on a variety of client accounts to solve problems and manage client relationships. The VP will also work on strategic initiatives in the areas of public relations, leadership development, and inclusion and diversity.

The expectation is that a qualified candidate at the VP level be equal parts account manager, business development generator and team leader.


KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management
  • Coordinate and manage all service offerings and team members working with the client.
  • Work directly with clients on a day-to-day basis to manage projects and maintain strong relationships.
  • Provide client counsel and creative recommendations to meet communication, leadership, DEI and nonprofit development goals.
  • Be abreast of the status of all service areas involved with the client and manage their timely execution of duties and project responsibilities.
  • Be responsible for the financial management of the client relationship.
  • Conduct regular internal meetings with all members of the STF team involved with the client to discuss progress on project goals, share service area updates, develop strategy and brainstorm new, value-added ideas for the client.
  • Regularly scan the scope of the relationship with the client to determine areas of vulnerability and potential.
  • Conduct monthly invoicing and basic client accounting.
  • Be responsible for the extension or renewal of the current client engagements.
  • Must be adept in most of the following areas:
    • Nonprofit Donor Development
      • Deep knowledge of Tulsa (and, to a lesser extent, Oklahoma) nonprofit landscape
      • Relationship management with nonprofits and funding community
      • Strategic counsel, brainstorming, and collaboration about funding for nonprofits
      • Experience in executing fundraising drives, including capital campaigns
      • Knowledge and experience in donor stewardship

Business Development and Company Support
  • Recruit new business, grow existing business, and seek opportunities to profitably expand current product lines.
  • Assist in managing area business development initiatives and encourage business development by promoting the firm to potential new clients.
  • Generate proposals and participate in new business presentations.
  • Assist in promotion and marketing of the firm.
  • Provide support to the partners, leadership team and account service staff, as assigned.
  • Practice and maintain strong internal communications.

Community Service
  • Demonstrate active participation and leadership in civic and charitable activities.
  • Maintain good working relationships with community groups, including nonprofit, civic, education, civic, cultural and others.
  • Represent the firm at a variety of external functions.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 10-12 years’ experience in nonprofit management or donor development; experience also preferred in public relations, marketing, public affairs or leadership consulting.
  • CFRE certification preferred.
  • Staff management experience and natural ability is preferred.
  • Proven skills in counseling for internal and external clients.
  • Dedication to go above-and-beyond to meet and exceed client need.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including training and group facilitation
  • Ability to manage budgetary planning and read, understand and create business financial statements is preferred.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, good listening skills and solid professional ethics. Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are a must.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the partners, management team and account executives and other staff.
  • Must be able to work in the office environment and virtually.
  • Has ability to perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Must be able to maintain a good working relationship with other staff members and general public. 
  • Some travel to other firm locations is required.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and to adapt to a changing environment.

COMPENSATION
  • The salary range for this position is $95-$110k based on experience.
    • Note: if you have fewer years of experience but an interest in non-profit leadership or fund-development, please feel free to apply for consideration with the following pay bands in mind:
      • Senior Account Executive (4-7 years’ experience): $60-$75k
      • Associate Vice President (7-10 years’ experience): $75-$95k
  • Position may be eligible for annual bonus.
  • Opportunity to earn commission for recruitment of new clients.
