The Role as the Senior Manager, Natural Resources
As a leader in our Natural Resources Group you will enjoy leading people, facilitating their contributions and potential, and supporting their ongoing development.  You will recognize business opportunities and manage projects, to include environmental assessments, environmental permitting, compliance monitoring/inspection, environmental planning/NEPA, ecological mitigation, and sustainability/resiliency planning that supports the advancement of Straughan’s future capabilities and capacity. The ideal candidate will be highly and intrinsically self-motivated, self-directed with an entrepreneurial mindset, and have depth of experience in natural resources technical work, while understanding and contributing to the organization’s top business priorities with your unique perspective, experience and skills. You will ensure that all relationships are your priority including all direct reports and long-term client relationships through proactive engagement identify solutions to challenges that arise. Here are some more specifics:
Location:  Columbia, MD/All employees are currently working remotely

Primary Responsibilities: Project/Program Management, Leadership Skills, Invoicing/Contract Management, Client Relationship Development and Management, Proposal Development, Technical Guidance, and Quality Assurance

Key Performance Metrics: Revenue Growth, Contract Performance/Client Feedback, and Staff Professional Development
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
•    Bachelor’s degree
•    10+ years of experience
•    Demonstrated experience leading a group of people by being a resilient, creative leader who understands the importance of being a role model and leads by example, supports and develops the team both individually and as a group
•    Demonstrated experience successfully managing large projects and programs
•    Demonstrated experience conducting environmental assessment and permitting projects (Clean Water Act Section 404/401, forest conservation, endangered species, biological monitoring)
•    Demonstrated experience and ability to maintain and grow projects and programs
•    Writing proposals with the highest level of technical writing skills
•    Well-developed organizational and communication skills
•    Proficiency in using standard software to track budgets and metrics for management planning and reporting
Desirable Qualifications
•    Advanced degree (MS, ME, MBA, PhD)
•    Professional certification, such as PMP, AICP, PWS, CEP
•    Active involvement in professional organizations
•    Author of technical publications and speaking engagements
•    Experience in the following markets: transportation, local government, federal government, utilities
