Overall Responsibilities: 

Working with high speed packaging machinery ensuring that machinery operates at maximum reliability and efficiency. Trouble shooting, solving problems, preventative maintenance, and working closely with other team members.

Key Performance Indicators: 

Fully functioning machinery and equipment, maintenance reports up to date, communication and collaboration with team members, problem solving, and quality of work. 

  1. Maintaining, repairing and servicing the production/packaging equipment on a daily basis
  2. Expert in day to day trouble shooting and solving problems with high speed packaging machinery
  3. Offering advice and support to other staff and departments regarding equipment/machinery within the brewery
  4. Pro-actively inspect and examine machinery/equipment to detect any irregularities and malfunctions
  5. Perform machining requirements, which include the proper use of lathes, mills, surface grinders, drill press, welding and brazing equipment and other machine shop related practices
  6. Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
  7. Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
  8. Ability to make continuous improvement recommendations
  9. Install, align, take apart and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, and conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  10. Excellent communication skills as dealing with other staff, departments and contractors
  11. Strictly adhering to company Health and Safety procedures at all times
  12. Fabricate brackets and frames for equipment and guarding
  13. Keeping equipment, maintenance and service reports up to date, escalating any problems/issues where necessary

Experience and Qualifications:
  • 5 years’ Millwright/Mechanical experience in packaging industry
  • Millwright license is required
  • Must have welding experience
  • Plumbing and pipefitting would be an asset
  • Experience on Krones Bottling, Can Filling and Labellers would be an asset
  • Experience on Plastic case Wrappers would be an asset
  • Knowledge of computerized machinery
  • Ability to read technical specifications and blueprints
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Team player with proven ability to work collaboratively
  • Mathematical and mechanical ability
  • Understanding lock-out procedures and excellent knowledge of safety standards
  • Ability to multitask in fast paced environment
