We are expanding our footprint in Multi-housing and Student Housing and are seeking an experienced and well-connected professional to drive growth in these verticals.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for business development, specifically focusing on selling TEAL Systems' 15-year agreements to developers of privately-owned multi-housing and/or student housing developments. The successful candidate will have deep experience in this market, a network of established relationships, and a proven ability to build and maintain strong, high-level relationships with decision-makers across the country. This role requires a strategic, results-driven individual who is plugged into the student housing world and can effectively expand our market presence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive Business Growth: Expand market share and revenue within the student housing sector by developing new relationships and growing existing ones.
  • Build and Maintain Client Relationships: Foster strong, long-term relationships with developers and decision-makers in the student housing market.
  • Develop and Manage Project Pipeline: Continuously build and maintain a pipeline of student housing projects in design or LOI status.
  • Achieve Signed Contract Goals: Meet or exceed targets for signed contracts and agreements with developers of student housing projects.
  • Industry Engagement: Stay deeply involved in the student housing community by attending relevant industry events, conferences, and building strategic partnerships.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Proven Experience: 3+ years of experience in business development within the student housing sector, with a demonstrated track record of success in relationship building and contract negotiations.
  • Network: A strong network of existing relationships with developers, owners, and decision-makers in privately-owned student housing projects.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to identify growth opportunities and execute strategic plans to expand TEAL's market presence in student housing.
  • Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for fostering long-term relationships with clients and partners.
  • Results-Driven: Strong focus on achieving business growth and meeting/exceeding sales targets.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, or a related field.
  • Experience in long-term contract negotiations, particularly in real estate, development, or construction sectors.
  • Knowledge of the technical aspects of managed central plant systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and account management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on building lasting client relationships.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a sales team and foster teamwork without direct reports.
  • Exceptional time management and professional dexterity.
