Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert on inflammation and immunity, particularly within the context of acute diseases.
- Provide expert guidance on state-of-the-art systems immunology concepts, technologies, and analytical methods.
- Advise on the conceptual and technical soundness of programmatic goals related to immune assessment, modeling, and modulation.
- Help establish goals, expectations, and budgets for projects involving immunological and computational research.
- Support technical evaluations and performance reviews of funded projects, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with ARPA-H leadership and cross-disciplinary teams to shape programs at the intersection of immunology, computation, and systems biology.
- Contribute to strategic planning, peer reviews, and milestone assessments of projects focused on immune response modulation and systems-based understanding of disease mechanisms.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Immunology or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in systems immunology, including both experimental and computational approaches.
- Experience in computational modeling, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence as applied to biological systems.
- Proven experience in budgeting, program management, and technical oversight of R&D or scientific innovation programs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific and technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment and travel onsite when required.
Desired Additional Qualifications:
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment (e.g., industry, ARPA, or other advanced R&D organizations).
- Familiarity with translational or systems-level approaches to immune system research.
- Experience supporting interdisciplinary teams focused on high-impact biomedical innovation.
