Clatsop WORKS- Internships Summer 2023

Thanks for your interest in the Clatsop WORKS program.

Clatsop WORKS provides local students, ages 16 and up, with exposure to professional paid internship opportunities in Clatsop County.

Program goals for interns:

Build application, resume, and interview skills
Develop work ethic and professionalism
Learn career readiness and technical skills
Network with local businesses and explore career options in Clatsop County

Important information for applicants:

Submission of this application does not guarantee an internship.
Upon receiving your application, the Clatsop WORKS Coordinator will forward to employers with internship opportunities in your area(s) of interest.
Host employers will contact you for interviews. The usual method is by phone, though some employers may reach out by email. Please check your voicemail and emails regularly for interview requests from potential employers.
Employers will require you to participate in their standard hiring procedures, including application and interview processes, up to and including background checks and drug screenings.

(Not having a license does not disqualify you.) * How will you get to work each day? * To participate in this internship program, you must attend the Wednesday morning 2-hour professional development sessions that run throughout the internship. Your employer will pay you for the 2 hours each week. You are responsible for getting yourself to the sessions and back to work. We do provide buses that can transport you from the high schools to the sessions, but you must still get yourself to the school to catch the bus, and back to work after. Missing more than three sessions can disqualify you from the program. "I understand that I am REQUIRED to attend the Wednesday morning paid professional development sessions in order to participate in the Clatsop WORKS internship program. I understand that I cannot miss more than three sessions, and that I must inform the Clatsop WORKS Coordinator when I will be missing a session." * We will schedule an Intern Orientation session in June. All interns are required to attend. "I understand I am required to attend the Intern Orientation.
