ROLE
WHC Energy Services – A Surerus Murphy Company (WHC), is seeking to recruit Human Resources Manager – Projects. The Human Resources Manager – Projects, is responsible for aligning HR strategies for field operations and ensuring that project HR practices support the company’s overall HR objectives. This role will provide leadership in employee relations, talent management, HR policy implementation, and serve as the primary liaison between Project HR and the Core HR department.
As a key leader in HR, the incumbent will drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment, responding quickly
to both employee and business needs. This position will influence HR strategy and programs and support the planning and execution of HR initiatives that enhance business performance.
The successful candidate will partner with business operations, build relationships, and drive process improvements to strengthen HR processes and implement systems that support the success of field operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build strong relationships with operational sector leaders and field-based teams.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for field-based employees.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with business goals and support field operations.
- Collaborate with leaders to understand business needs and customize HR solutions to address challenges in field locations.
- Ensure HR programs and policies at field locations align with corporate HR strategies and objectives.
- Support the project HR team to enhance the employee experience by executing HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Oversee the implementation of HR policies and procedures across field locations and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Address complex employee relations issues, providing strategic direction and resolution.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, employment laws, and health and safety regulations.
- Oversee the mobilization and demobilization of projects, ensuring effective onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Support training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Collaborate with field leaders to identify talent needs and succession planning.
- Assist field leaders with performance issues and implement performance improvement plans.
- Lead change management initiatives related to HR programs and organizational changes affecting field operations.
- Understand business goals and recommend and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve business objectives, productivity, and HR functions.
- Deliver results in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, supporting both HR functions and operational leadership.
- Manage and create structure around project-based employee compensation programs, including per diem, uplift, and project-based bonuses.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- SHRM certification (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) is an asset.
- Bilingual candidates fluent in Spanish are preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of HR experience in industrial environments, including both generalist and specialist roles with increasing responsibilities.
- Expertise in Employee Relations and Investigations.
- Knowledge of employment law, including Prevailing Wage, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other relevant legislation impacting field-based employees.
- Skilled in documenting processes and staying current with industry trends.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Adaptable to changing workplace demands.
- Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Client-oriented with the ability to build and maintain relationships with the diverse clients.
- Works independently, with strong initiative and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficient at building collaborative relationships and influencing stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including formal presentations.
