ROLE
WHC Energy Services – A Surerus Murphy Company (WHC), is seeking to recruit an IT Support Specialist. The IT Support Specialist will deliver technical support for operating systems, network protocols, and specific application packages in response to end-user requests.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical support for various IT products, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and maximize product utilization.
  • Assist in supporting administrative computer-based applications, offering troubleshooting and optimization for technical issues.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions under general supervision.
  • Install and configure computers and peripherals on data networks, ensuring ongoing maintenance and system quality assurance.
  • Manage troubleshooting and trouble ticket escalation, field incoming help requests, and document user issues and resolutions.
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQs to aid in problem resolution.
  • Install, test, and configure necessary firmware and software updates on core infrastructure systems.
  • Support cellular devices, VOIP phone systems, and videoconferencing in accordance with the company's Technology Standards Policy.

Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT operations and infrastructure deployment.
  • Experience administering systems support for remote work sites.
  • Experience in IT infrastructure fundamentals including storage, server, networking, virtualization, cloud, and cybersecurity.
  • In-depth hands-on experience with Microsoft Enterprise solutions, M365 administration, and other cloud solutions such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with Dell, HP, Lenovo, Cisco Meraki network hardware, Microsoft Active Directory, VMWare, Hyper-V, VDI, Intune, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Microsoft server environments.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems.
  • Strong hardware skills in building, diagnosing, and upgrading enterprise server and network hardware.
  • Intermediate technical knowledge of major operating systems, Microsoft networking and operating environments, and configuring and maintaining network infrastructure solutions.
  • Working knowledge of wired and wireless networking/SAN solutions, local and remote backup technologies, and PowerShell or MS Graph scripting.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt to changes quickly, and possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is office based and works in our The Woodlands office. 25% 30% travel to project or office sites is required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The IT Support Specialist reports to IT Manager, North America.
