The Wisconsin State Fair Park (WSFP) is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented and dedicated candidate to work as a Technical Support Analyst. The ideal candidate will be reliable, timely, and have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
The Technical Support Analyst serves as the front line technical support for all Wisconsin State Fair Park users and is a member of the Technical Services team. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: configuration, installation, upgrade and support of all WSFP standard hardware and software platforms which the Wisconsin State Fair Park and its departments utilize.
This position is an unclassified, Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system. This role is full-time. However, part-time applicants with the anticipation of becoming full-time will be considered for employment.
Pay is $10.00 - $15.00 per hour depending on experience. A comprehensive fringe benefits package, including health and dental insurance, life insurance and disability insurance among others may be available after a minimum employment period is met. Paid time off for vacation, holidays, etc are not included as part of the benefits package.

Candidates should first and foremost possess excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills, which includes a focus on critical thinking in a technical environment while demonstrating exceptional communication ability (both written and verbal). Candidates must exhibit great attention to detail, and show a proactive approach to both team duties and independent projects. Candidates must possess general knowledge of networking, remote access, security, Active Directory and group policy. Candidates should show initiative, resourcefulness, the desire to increase technical knowledge and the ability to effectively apply knowledge learned.
Candidates must be able to lift, deliver and set up computers, monitors, printers along with the associated cabling and accessories with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ideal skills include, but are not limited to:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Microsoft Windows 7/10, Office 2013/2016
  • ITSM utilization
  • Workstation and laptop configuration, installation and support
  • Printer and scanner configuration, installation and support

Candidate must be able to work all 11 days of the annual Wisconsin State Fair; for 2018 these dates are August 2 – 12, 2018. Prior to appointment to this position, the candidate will be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check.
