POSITION SUMMARY
The Wisconsin State Fair Park (WSFP) is seeking friendly, customer service- and detail-oriented candidates to fill multiple Vendor Services Representative positions for the annual Wisconsin State Fair event. The position’s core duties include acting as a liaison between the Vendor Services Department and the commercial and food & beverage Vendors at the Wisconsin State Fair, evaluating Vendor booth spaces and operations, and ensuring Vendor License Agreement compliance.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE
This position is an unclassified, seasonal Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system. This role will work in a full-time capacity over the 11-day annual Wisconsin State Fair, which includes weekends. There may be additional work hours offered before and/or after the annual fair. Annual hours worked in this position will not exceed 1039 hours.


COMPENSATION
The starting wage for this role will be $14.00 per hour.

 
WHO CAN APPLY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist Vendors in locating their assigned area
  • Distribute Vendor Check-in Packets during setup
  • Evaluate Vendor booths and practices
  • Photograph Vendor spaces
  • Assist Fairgoers with questions about Vendors and/or the Fair
  • Check for Vendor License Agreement compliance
  • Work with various Wisconsin State Fair Park departments to problem solve and accomplish a variety of tasks
  • Distribute various printed information, promotional signage, etc.
  • Maintain shared daily work logs
  • Recap daily with other Vendor Services Representatives

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be available to work July 29 – August 11, 2024
  • Must be available to attend an orientation on Monday, July 15 from 9am – 4pm
  • Ability to work both on a diverse team and independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate based on standards, rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of the Wisconsin State Fair Park layout is beneficial
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

SPECIAL NOTES
The candidate must be able to work all 11 days of the annual Wisconsin State Fair; for 2024 these dates are August 1 – 11, 2024. Prior to appointment to this position, the candidate may be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check.
