POSITION SUMMARY
The Wisconsin State Fair Park is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Sponsorship and Marketing Assistant to join our sponsorship team within the Marketing Division for the summer season.

The Wisconsin State Fair Park Sponsorship Department is responsible for cultivating, managing, and executing corporate and in-kind sponsorships for the annual Wisconsin State Fair, Harvest Fair, and year-round annual assets. The Sponsorship Assistant will assist with the coordination of corporate sponsors and brand partners for the annual Wisconsin State Fair and Milwaukee Mile 250.  The Sponsorship and Marketing Assistant will work collaboratively with and provide support to the Sponsorship Manager and Sponsorship Director.

This position will support the overall goals of the Marketing Division, which is responsible for external and internal marketing efforts including management of multiple websites, digital marketing, printed collateral, social media, community affairs and strategic promotional campaign development with the agency of record.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE
This position is an unclassified, seasonal single Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system. Hours will fall between 10-40 hours per week in May/June and gradually increasing to 40+ hours per week through the annual Wisconsin State Fair. Hours can be flexible around classes for students. This role will work in a full-time capacity over the 11-day annual Wisconsin State Fair, which includes weekends, and in the weeks leading up to the event. There may be additional work hours offered after the annual State Fair. Annual hours worked in this position will not exceed 1,039 hours.

COMPENSATION
The starting wage for this role will be $15 to $16 per hour, based on qualifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist with fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables, including but not limited to, distributing sponsor contracts, fulfilling sponsor placements in marketing materials, routing digital and static signage, fulfilling utility orders, and ordering and distributing ticket and parking pass allocations
  • Support with the corporate sponsor contract process, including creating and distributing sponsor and trade agreements and collection of paperwork (i.e. Certificate of Insurance, Temporary Event Operator and Seller Information, and all other required documentation)
  • Collaborate with Marketing team on sponsor-driven social media campaigns and onsite sponsor promotions
  • Assist with onsite execution of sponsor activations, including placement, load-in/out, and frequent contact and check-ins throughout the Fair with individual partners
  • Collaborate with colleagues and onsite corporate sponsors and brand partners to ensure programs are executed successfully
  • Lead coordination & fulfillment efforts of the Veterans Resource Expo – including the communication with participating groups, activation layout, and execution of event
  • Clear documentation of sponsored areas and assets, including photos and feedback from brand partners
  • Support sponsor fulfillment efforts for the Milwaukee Mile 250 INDYCAR race in the weeks leading up to the race and during the race weekend
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • College junior or senior, preferred
  • A proven track record of customer service and problem-solving experience, preferably with prior experience and working knowledge of events
  • A positive, “can-do” attitude with a high level of customer service
  • Reliable and dependable in performing job related tasks, finishing assigned work, and timeliness
  • Ability to work in both a fast-paced event environment and in an office setting
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Well-developed project management skills, organizational skills, time management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects
  • Foster trust and open/honest communication with internal teams and brand partners
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

SPECIAL NOTES
The candidate must be able to work all 11 days of the 2025 Wisconsin State Fair, July 31 – August 10. Prior to appointment to this position, the candidate will be subject to a comprehensive criminal background check.
