POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for responding to medical and injury response calls. With a limited amount of equipment, the First Aid Provider answers emergency calls and provides basic-level care to ill and/or injured individuals before additional medical support arrives on the scene. After receiving notification of an emergency, the First Aid Provider safely responds on bicycle to the location given in the park, using the most expeditious route.
EMPLOYMENT TYPE
This position is an unclassified, seasonal Limited Term Employment (LTE) position within the State of Wisconsin employment system. This role will work in a full-time capacity over the 11-day annual Wisconsin State Fair, which includes weekends. There may be additional work hours offered before and/or after the annual fair. Annual hours worked in this position will not exceed 1039 hours.
COMPENSATION
The starting wage for this role will be $21.25 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responds to emergency scenes. Before initiating care the First Aid Provider will “access” the scene to determine the area is safe, identify the mechanism/cause of injury or nature of illness, the total number of patients and request additional help, if more advanced treatment is necessary
- Using a limited assortment of equipment/supplies, provide basic-level medical care to adults, children and infants based on assessment findings
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current or former Paramedic, EMT, CNA or Emergency Room Technician, preferred
- Possess a current CPR license or ability to obtain one prior to start of the annual Wisconsin State Fair
- Possess a current First Aid certification or ability to obtain one prior to start of the annual Wisconsin State Fair
- Ability to train and ride a bike safely in large crowds and outdoor weather environments
- Must be at least 18 years old
