STUDENT TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR – MISSOURI DIVISION
Position Summary:
 
The Student Transportation Coordinator has the primary responsibility of maintaining a safe, efficient and exemplary transportation department.  The Coordinator is also responsible for the successful day-to-day operations in all phases of transportation / public contact and the requisite Coordinator reports.

  • Must be able to meet deadlines on a weekly basis and on special projects as assigned
  • Must have knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, including computer proficiency
  • Must have compassionate and helpful attitude toward children, especially students with special needs
  • Must be able to learn the various levels of laws, statutes, regulations, policies, best practices and guidelines governing and relevant to Student Transportation
  • Must have ability to grasp these multiple levels of Federal, State, District and Company governance and implement them into daily operations
  • Experience in Student Transportation preferred but, not required

Essential Functions

Daily Operations:
  • Must maintain supervisory presence at Early Childhood Center; ensure any / all ECH issues or concerns are addressed / appropriately resolved within 24 hrs., if possible
  • Perform, monitor and supervise Field Staff Scheduling for base location(s)
  • Perform, monitor and supervise Dispatch Operations, including daily reports
  • Perform, monitor and supervise Routing Operations during School Year / ESY
  • Perform, monitor and supervise Customer Service with District Staff and Parents
  • Schedule, monitor, and supervise Office Staff in a professional manner
  • Perform, monitor and supervise proper Payroll documentation / processing on Paycom
  • Function as valued liaison between AT, districts and communities we serve
  • Respond to all employee / client issues in a knowledgeable, professional and timely manner
  • Respond to / complete all Incident Reports
  • Respond to / supervise all reported Accidents & Reports, including supervising on-scene in the field
  • When staffing permits, conduct periodic Field Observation Assessments at each District to ensure accountability, compliance and Team rapport
  • Maintain current / cleared status on Company credit card online account

Personnel: 
  • Office Staff: train, supervise, schedule, evaluate in a professional and timely manner
  • Field Staff: Interview, supervise, evaluate field staff in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain and update employee files as required / directed, including tracking absences, tardiness, vacations, orientations, anniversary dates and training requirements
  • Provide feedback and direction in a professional and timely manner
  • Respond to and complete Incident Reports and EPAs in timely manner

Fleet Management: 
  • Responsible for oversight of care / condition of the fleet
  • Oversee scheduled routine (and non-routine) maintenance
  • Ensure vehicles are in safe operating condition
  • Notify the Fleet Manager (KCK) of any maintenance issues
  • Organize / supervise vehicle inspection process during Summer
  • Approve invoices and receipts for payments under $500

Secondary Job Functions

Facility Management: 
  • Oversight of overall care and safe working environment of building / office / grounds
  • Schedule routine and non-routine maintenance

Other:
  • Back-up Dispatch / Router / Driver / Aide, as needed
  • Serve as a back-up to other Student Transportation Coordinators
  • Foster positive relationships with parents, teachers, administrators in the communities

About The Position:
  • Salary Range - $50,000-$58,000 – Commensurate on experience, certifications, and training
  • Full-Time Position
  • This is an in-person position
  • Monday-Friday – Day time hours.  Work schedule may vary, based on the needs of the department
