ASSISTANT TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR – St. Louis County Division
Join our team as an Assistant Transportation Coordinator in our new St. Louis County location, providing pupil transportation for the Special School District, where you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and exemplary transportation department.

· Efficient: Must be able to work independently, adhere to prescribed routines and practice, maintain records, and make reports requiring accuracy
· Effective: Must be able to meet deadlines, especially on special projects as assigned
· Knowledgeable: Must have knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
· Computer proficiency: Must have basic skills with Microsoft applications, databases, and routing software
· Communication: Must maintain open/direct communication with immediate supervisor and co-workers
· Empathy: Must have empathetic attitude toward children
Essential Functions:
Communications:
· Manage daily Communications center operations
· Performs Dispatch / Routing functions
· Assist in training, supervision and evaluation of Office / Field staff
· Coordinate operations w/routing and comms w/District clients
· Develop / manage relationships with District Staff
Driver Scheduling:
· Manage the driver schedules / availability
· Responsible for daily / weekly coverage for all programs
· Manage driver hours / overtime / scheduling, along w/Coordinator
· Responsible for daily reports to Finance / next day business
Office & Clerical:
· Develop / manage relationships with District Staff
· Oversee timely completion of
· Assist in timely completion and submission of personnel reports
Field Staff - Drivers / Aides:
· Assist with personnel: interview, train, evaluate and discipline functions
· Oversee updates of employee requirements, including medical, tracking absences, tardiness, vacations, orientations, and anniversary dates
· Provide feedback, instruction, direction and correction in professional and timely manner
· Coordinate any/all driver needs for equipment
Safety and Training:
· Receive, document and respond to telephone or radio reports of accidents and incidents
· Investigate accident and incidents as assigned
· Complete video reviews as assigned
· Files insurance claims as needed
· Complete orientation, training, and in-services
Other:
· Function as a driver or aide as needed
· Manage fleet maintenance
· Communicate with drivers, parents and district representatives
· Provide feedback and direction in a professional manner to Coordinator
· Remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on technology
· Participate in Supervisory on-call rotation
· Assist with facility maintenance communication
· Serve as a back-up to other Student Transportation Coordinator
