Looking for an opportunity to make a difference? Then you may have found your next career move. We are looking for a Safety Consultant to join our Chicagoland team, headquartered in Aurora, IL. Our consultants’ partner with and provide leadership, support, and safety consultation to our clients.
What you will do...
- Implement and reinforce company safety programs, compliance strategies and sustainable management systems
- Conduct safety audits in Northern, IL, Northwest, IN and Southern, WI.
- Assist with reporting and investigating accidents/exposures; communicate risks to management
- Ensure appropriate individuals are trained in processes and procedures and applicable training, qualifications and certifications
- Ensure that employees have been trained for their job using MS Office or Similar programs.
- Conduct regular training and ensure that the following are practiced: personal protective equipment, safety & equipment usage, lockout/tagout, hazardous communication, evacuation drills, fall prevention, etc.
Who we are looking for...
- 3+ years of work experience and familiarity with safety requirements in the construction industry
- Must be a self-starter with a high sense of urgency to address safety matters
- Must be a progressive learner who is willing and able to grow into larger roles of responsibility
- Strong organizational, oral, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to coach and train others
- Ability to work independently and on multiple projects
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; can articulate safety practices to colleagues
- Approachable and effective with the ability to influence change across all levels of the organization
- Safety certifications preferred but not required
