The Graphic and Media Designer is an integral part of the Exxel Outdoors Products marketing team.  The qualified candidate will play an important role in the development of digital and print brand image through the creation and design of visual brand materials.

This position will adhere to production cycles and timelines to create and fulfill all creative needs both in print, and on-line. The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the other members of the in-house graphic design team.

The candidate must have a strong knowledge of the outdoor industry and current trends, styles and technology within the market. Must be upbeat, deadline-oriented and willing to take input from a variety of team members and work well in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will be strong in user interface and interactivity design as well as have a strong understanding of print/production processes utilizing the creative suite.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative Graphic Design & Production:
  • Conceptualize, design and successfully execute the production of sales and marketing print materials, including Packaging, Point-of-purchase and Retailer presentation mock-ups.
  • Effectively conceptualize, design and create high-quality interactive visuals to support brand direction, and work with external development agency to execute needs such as email blasts, feature highlights and websites.
  • Manipulate photos to achieve and advance brand design aesthetic.
  • Conceptualize and design marketing content for use in Social Media, Digital Advertising and a variety of other consumer touchpoints.
  • Work with outside development agencies and assist with photo shoots/styling as needed.
  • Assist with efforts to streamline efficiencies and processes.

Daily Administrative Duties & Support:  
  • Assist in fulfilling collateral and information needs.
  • Support dealer requests in terms of creative needs.
  • Web site administration.
  • General correspondence.
  • Miscellaneous support and follow-up as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Interactive Media or a related field plus 3+ years professional graphic design experience required.
  • Compelling portfolio that demonstrates advanced interactive experiences and innovative digital and print design.
  • Able to conceptualize and execute on marketing activities that will increase awareness, reinforce brand messaging and drive sell through in all major retail channels.
  • Ability to work with constructive criticism as well as adhere to deadlines.


SKILLS
 
  • Proficient in: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and similar tools. Illustration skills are a plus.
  • Passion for graphic design and aesthetics (color theory, photography, typography, layout).
  • Clear understanding of contemporary Web interaction techniques.
