We are seeking a detail oriented and outgoing Lead Commercial Painter. The ideal candidate is a motivated, hardworking individual who is ready to share their knowledge and commitment to excellence while receiving the benefits from doing so. This position is based out of Renton but will be working on projects throughout the Puget Sound area that range from Everett to Tacoma. We are looking for a couple of select individuals to add to our team as we grow in 2019 and beyond!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•    Overall accountability for day to day supervision of crews and quality on commercial projects.
•    Able to read a written scope of work or color list and organize job accordingly.
•    Able to follow either written and spoken specifications to complete project by performing the work and directing crew.
•    Lead crew in interior painting working at lower heights, and also working off of ladders, boom lift, scissor lift, and/or scaffold as well as masking and surface protection to ensure all areas are protected before painting.
•    Lead crew in exterior painting working off of ladders, lifts, swing stage, and/or while using a harness and/or other fall protection methods.
•    Responsible for cross checking colors and confirming products supplied to match the job files.
•    Organize and direct crew to complete painting in a timely and efficient manner.
•    Responsible for overall quality on job site and to notify supervisor as needed of any issues as well as supply solutions to help correct problems or errors as they arise.
•    Use and look for proper painting techniques on job to produce high quality painting.
•    Consistently perform site clean up to leave job sites clean at the end of the day. Pickup of materials as needed.
•    Provide superintendent with a daily progress report. Communicate with supervisor regarding any communication on site with the customer and any proposed changes in the scope of work as needed.
•    Exhibit professional demeanor at all times and represents the company while at client job sites.
•    Be knowledgeable of safety rules, site safety and ensure crew is adhering to safety policies at all times.
•    Track time by task as needed for billing purposes. Save receipts and submit to office for billing purposes.
•    Complete all paperwork including logs in a timely manner.
•    Manage scope of work by notifying supervisor of change order requests by general contractor and also when a change order proposal is needed to complete work properly. If work is requested in the field, verify if it is in the scope of work/contract, and if there is a question, call supervisor immediately. If it appears to be extra work, call supervisor immediately and coordinate/collaborate the submittal of a change order proposal.
•    Conduct safety meetings and walk around safety inspections as needed.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

•    Current driver's license. Must have reliable transportation and valid insurance. Position will travel to and from job sites and as needed in the Puget Sound Area.
•    Eight (8) + years experience in the painting industry, preferably with experience on large multi-family projects or tenant improvement projects.
•    Expert in various finishes and paint applications.
•    Meticulous, clean, detail oriented and takes pride in work.
•    Proactive attitude that does not hesitate to ask questions and get clarification as needed.
•    Must speak, read, and write English at least an intermediate level.
•    Experience successfully managing crews of at least five (5) people.
•    Proven track record working with Superintendents on jobs ranging from two (2) weeks to one (1) year or more.
•    Proven track record of successfully managing jobs in the field to completion. Experience in tracking time, materials and change orders highly desired.
•    Ability to work Monday-Friday with some Saturdays and some nights depending on the project.
•    Must be able to efficiently operate a smartphone
