Painting Project Manager/Estimator
Do you enjoy working with people while managing projects?  Do you like estimating painting jobs and want the Opportunity to grow?  Our client, a growing painting company on the east side is seeking a professional, proactive communicator, detail oriented Project Manager/Estimator for both our commercial and multifamily project divisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Overall accountability to both the company and client for all aspects of the project:  Schedule, Budget, Quality.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong customer relationships: includes client, residents, and subcontractor partners.
  • Prepare estimates for existing structures by performing site visits and/or meeting with prospective clients, taking measurements/pictures and detailed notes.
  • Perform estimates from drawings using Planswift takeoff software and excel template with formulas, based on production rates.
  • Prepare, send and follow up on estimates in a timely manner to secure work.
  • Perform job handoff meetings with Operations Manager and Leads for successful projects
  • Ensure job sites begin and remain equipped with needed supplies and materials.
  • Manage communication with clients regarding schedule and site logistics and coordination throughout project.
  • Support, direct and coordinate with Operations Manager Lead Painters on project requirements in the field.
  • Perform site visits to ensure quality and production
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding project status as needed (via email, phone, in person,, etc…)
  • Access and refer to project estimate, specifications, change order documents and/or plan sets as needed for project management.
  • Follow project documentation according to system including updates and changes throughout job.
  • Review and monitor projects for potential risks, establish planning with team to mitigate and minimize.
  • Foster an inclusive team environment.
  • Pursue and sell new work based on goals set with Owner and Business Development Manager.
  • Monitor schedule for every project
  • Excellent communication, proactivity, accountability, problem solving, Punctuality & reliability are key to this position
  • Current driver's license.  Must have reliable transportation and valid insurance.  Position will travel to and from appointments in the Puget Sound Area.
  • Excellent computer knowledge and skill level in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Outlook.
  • Ability to use Planswift Estimating Software
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills using English language.  Bilingual in Spanish highly desired.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. 
  • Detail oriented and excellent time management skills.
  • Must be prompt and on time with customers and to job meetings as required.
  • Ability to access and collaborate on a shared file system

  • Proven track record working with the public as well as ability to build rapport and relationships with HOAs, general contractors, suppliers, and other clients.
  • Successful history in estimating projects, selling, and managing profitable projects
  • Successful history in managing painting or construction projects from start to finish.
  • Ability to work in a flexible environment and communicate with customers and team members as needed outside typical office hours.
  • Understands basic concepts of job costing and production rates
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) year’s experience in painting industry or related field where track record is established of increased responsibility and growth.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the construction industry and how scheduling, customer communications and sequencing work within job sites.
