FIELD SUPERINTENDENT:
Armadillo Painting, a residential, commercial and multi-family painting company based on the Eastside, is looking for an organized, goal-oriented, and customer-focused Field Superintendent to join their team.  Established in 2005, Armadillo Painting has a respected reputation with a large following of repeat and referred clients.  Armadillo Painting is focused on delivering the highest value and superior results for our customers, and in return offer employees competitive compensation and benefits and a professional and team-oriented working environment.   

We are seeking to immediately fill our General Superintendent position that will be responsible for the daily oversight of multiple painting projects, to ensure each project meets schedules, project budget goals, delivers on promises to customers, and adheres to all company policies and safety standards. General Superintendent will also be responsible to work with and train foreman as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Safety:
  • responsible for crews working safely at all times.
  • Creation of site specific safety plans and follow up.
  • Train crews in safety procedures on site. Conducts site safety meetings.
  • Report any safety violations to office immediately

Field Operations: Production and Quality Control:
  • Oversee production on jobsites working with foreman to ensure company quality, schedule, and profit goals are achieved and that customer commitments are met. Enforce quality standards and train as needed and report back to field operations manager with feedback on crews.
  • Identify risks or potential issues that could arise and bring to the team to problem solve and mitigate those risks
  • Complete regular site visits
  • Participate in job handoff meetings with estimator/project manager and foreman. Identify RFI’s based on drawings to ensure field crews have complete and clear scope and specifications.
  • Problem solve as needed to hit production, quality and safety goals.
  • Measure production, quality, and track costs
  • Ensure job cleanliness and company image standards are met (uniform and PPE)
  • Work with field operations manager to ensure crew size and skill set are what the project requires
  • Participate in weekly production meeting with project managers and field operations manager with updates.
  • Review weekly job cost updates and provide feedback
  • Daily schedule reports to field operations manager for schedule needs
  • Work with foreman to ensure punch list items are promptly taken care of
  • Work with foreman to ensure all extra work is signed off before being completed, and all extra work is documented
  • Ensure daily reports and foreman logs are being completed and ensure foreman have enough paperwork
  • Ensure participation in production awareness program and provide training as needed
  • Report equipment issues/needs to field operations manager
  • Enforce policies for subcontractors and train subcontractors when arriving on site
  • Use of technology and ability to mentor foreman and crews on the technology for tracking of time, daily logs, and extra work tickets.
  • Ability to access company project information using company CRM and dropbox
  • Collaborate with estimating team to assess access and production needs for a project and provide feedback on estimated production rates
  • Work with leads to mobilize and demobilize jobs, including but not limited to managing setup of scaffold and swing stage and management of rental equipment on site
  • Solicit street permits for projects as needed

Relationship Management and Leadership:
  • Recruit, mentor, develop and retain top talent to ensure sustainability and future growth for the company and the industry
  • Training and development – work with foreman to ensure that field crew have the opportunity to learn proper painting techniques
  • Manage conflict – identify root caused and address promptly
  • Address performance issues decisively and objectively


Education
                High School Diploma
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10 years’ experience in paint application on commercial job sites such as warehouses, condo buildings, mixed use construction, senior living, office parks, tenant improvements, and shopping facilities
  • Proficient in understanding of wallcovering application, scaffolding and swing stage
  • Prior experience obtaining street use permits highly desired
  • Proven track record working with general contractors, property managers, architects and owners
  • Ability to work nights
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Proficient in reading and understanding plans and specifications and working with foreman to coach and train as needed
  • Proven track record in achieving results by setting goals
  • Understanding of production rates and ability to measure crew production
  • Ability to use a smartphone
  • Ability to use online platforms and train field crew as needed
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of math, working with numbers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent standing, walking, and sitting
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions year round
Must be able to work at computer or desk area for extended periods of time.
Role consists of both office time and field time at job sites
