The Area Leisure  Sales Manager is responsible for identifying and sourcing leisure /transient business in accordance with the collection’s strategic plan to maximize room revenue during peak and nonpeak periods.  Area Leisure Manager reports directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing and/or Area Director of Sales and Marketing and works closely with each hotel’s revenue manager and executive committee to ensure that the leisure and transient sales strategy is in line with properties business needs.  The position currently represents 2 Auberge Resorts, which could change based on business need.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS  

  1. Oversee account and production goal in the assigned region.

  2. Support the collection revenue goals by generating leisure / transient business at each hotel

  3. Organize and schedule direct sales efforts via phone, email and in person... Average of 5 prospecting efforts per day are expected. ( 25 per week )

  4. Evaluate and initiate opportunities for developing new sources of business.

  5. Plan and execute a 12-month strategic business plan.

  6. Play a key role in the development of the hotels' leisure marketing plan

  7. Build effective relationships with consortia accounts - AMEX FHR, Virtuoso, Signature, etc

  8. Support the hotels' wholesale account strategy

  9. Support and participate in daily calls with Area Director of Revenue, weekly Revenue Management Calls and monthly conference calls with Regional Director of Sales and property specific calls as needed.

  10. Accurately maintain and build Salesforce database of clients.  Responsible for the overall accuracy of the regional database.

  11. Abide by policies and procedure of Auberge Resorts.

  12. Maintain ethical and professional standards of sales service.

  13. Maintain professional appearance and demeanor and to conduct personal behavior in a mature and professional business manner while representing the company.

  14. Travel and work flexible days and hours.

  15. Keep department heads informed of problems so as to ensure prompt correction and ensure guest satisfaction.

  16. Be available to work on the property as required

  17. Establish appropriate remote workstation, answer phone and respond to emails in a timely fashion.  Phone calls are to be returned same day and RFP’s have a 24 hour response time.

  18. Provide positive, proactive engagement with the property hotel General Managers and Regional Director of Sales and Marketing.

  19. Provide feedback and goals and objectives in preparation of annual sales plans and budgets.

  20. Ensure effective leisure pricing strategies are properly communicated to leisure clients.

  21. Assist Area Director of Sales & Marketing as needed on corporate initiatives.

  22. Establishes initiatives and executes direct sales objectives to promote Auberge Resorts brand.

  23. Develops regional planning and strategies to increase brand exposure.

  24. Evaluates promotional events, trade shows, community, and industry events to make sure attendance produces the proper return on investment.

  25. Maintain customer, trade, industry and staff relations.

  26. Assist DOSM in training and growth of travel coordinator position

  27. Target key accounts to host familiarization trips to increase ROI

  28. Work with tourism organization to maximize regional opportunities and buying power

  29. Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required

  1. Four-year college degree or equivalent education/experience

  2. Minimum 3 years sales experience in a related position in luxury hotel sales environment

  3. Demonstrated record of driving sales revenues in a hotel environment

 

Desirable

  1. Prior experience selling multiple properties or brand.

  2. Prior experience in international hotels/resorts

  3. Prior experience working in a remote sales office setting.

  4. Prior experience working with professional organizations that support leisure / Transient

  14. Ability to coach and mentor on property sales assistants.

  19. Fluency in English.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

 
  1. Travel domestically to promote collection at trade shows or regional sales missions.

  2. Travel to resorts as requested for sites, meetings and travel professionally related fams.

  3. Travel for internal sales and marketing meetings.

  4. Travel to assist with limited on-site coverage as needed.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 
  1. Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing.   Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting a property.

  2. The constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity.

  3. Occasional need to stand for long periods of time.       

  4. Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally. Higher weight threshold may apply when traveling with luggage.

  5. Vision requirements: the constant need to view small print.  Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arm's’ reach.

  6. Hearing requirements: the constant need to speak on a telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
