Secluded on nearly 10 acres on Waller Creek, the Commodore Perry Estate comprises a 10,800-square-foot home, a chapel and gardens enclosed within a walled compound in the style of an Italian country villa and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Now refreshed and refurbished as a luxury 54 room resort, the property will open in mid-2020.

Role Summary

A candidate with strong entrepreneurial spirit, who is innovative, creative, results-driven with a desire to exceed customer expectations.  Exceptional business acumen with attention to detail, forecast accuracy, and pace preparation. Focused on social groups and weddings, with the ability to maximize revenue generation with differentiating strategies.  Act as the primary contact for all advance planning, set up, event orchestration and post-departure follow up for each program. Requires consistent attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication capabilities. Must be adaptable and able to work across all departments, with a key focus on food and beverage, to detail each event and ensure flawless execution.

  • Ability to professionally represent the resort, and interact with clients in a polished, responsible, and timely manner

  • Ability to communicate information to operational departments accurately and in a timely manner

  • Ability to portray The Commodore Perry Estate as the unique urban resort, throughout the entire planning process and execution of all events

  • Ability to track sources of business, qualifying each event in order to better direct marketing efforts

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google

  • Proficient knowledge of Delphi or comparable catering system


  • Minimum of three years of event planning experience, preferably in a hotel or resort.

  • College degree preferred, work experience can substitute for education.

  • Must have a working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint. Delphi experience is also a plus.

  • Must be organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
