Role Summary
Join our Auberge family as the Area Director of Sales for our properties, Etereo and Susurros del Corazon.  This role will be the functional lead and Executive Committee member for the two properties, provide sales and marketing leadership and expertise to achieve each hotel's top line revenue goals, and report directly to each respective General Manager.

The Area Director of Sales is the leader in driving revenues, property-wide and in all revenue centers, managing and participating in the direct sales effort in the group, catering, transient, and leisure markets.

Additionally, this role will coach, advise and implement procedures, programs and initiatives that support the property goals. This will be achieved by strategizing with the General Managers, Revenue Management and Home Office through analysis, evaluation and allocation of resources necessary to gain market share and achieve gross operating profit and drive overall revenue opportunities.

Other key success factors of this role is to lead innovation at the property level, working with operations to develop experiences and programs that bring the property identity to life, with the ability to market those experiences to drive incremental demand.

Core Responsibilities
The core responsibilities for this position include:
  • Direct and manage all activity related to the Sales department, ensuring service standards are followed and team members achieve their individual goals
  • Provide guidance and direction in the development of segment goals, account management and action plans
  • Responsible for overall achievement of sales objectives on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, with participation in both on- and off-property activities
  • Sign-off for all sales contracts, considering the number of rooms, average rate and total revenue objectives of the hotel
  • Manage the Sales Incentive Programs
  • Oversee the integrity of sales software programs for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Prepare an annual budget and marketing plan for approval and administer that budget in a fiscally responsible manner
  • Define competitive markets(s) and defined competitive sets and their relevance to the hotel/resort based on current/future market conditions and market/industry changes and fluctuations
  • Ensure a clear understanding of the resort customers, segments, competition, and the brand positioning
  • Mobilize the right sales and marketing department resources and recommendations to deliver on goals
  • Evaluate future or advanced performance or process issues relating to market segment booking pace, channel reports, backlog, reservations pace, and conversion in an effort to identify any future revenue and performance shortfalls
  • In collaboration with home office revenue leaders conduct detailed reservations evaluation reviewing conversion, denials, inventory management and classifications, availability/yield management practices, GDS listing, call volumes and shopping report analysis; collaborate regarding hotel condition relative to its rate and market positioning and make recommendations.
  • Continually review current staff structure and issues relating to quality, professionalism, and performance to goals, skill sets, training opportunities, compensation and all other related performance opportunities.
  • Responsible for  business /marketing plans and individual tactics and accomplishments to achieve all market segments to budgeted revenue goals, including advertising (consumer, trade, directory, image, tactical), direct marketing, revenue maximization practices, public relations, promotions, external entertainment, fam trips, collateral and branding tools, package development, travel industry i.e. agents, consortia, wholesalers, co-op marketing, measurement, food and beverage marketing, direct sales, trade shows, and space utilization analysis.
  • Maintain consistent and quality communication with General Managers, Managing Directors and home office revenue leaders.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous senior leadership experience within luxury hospitality sales
  • Computer literacy in relevant applications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to be productive working remotely
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Preferred Qualifications
  • University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
