ROLE SUMMARY
Join our team as Director of OS&E and become one of the authors of our story. The Director of OS&E is responsible for coordination of all operational and logistical processes impacting the OS&E procurement process for new openings, transitions, and certain CapEx projects at operating properties in the collection. Working closely with several discipline leads, including Creative, Finance and Operations teams, the Director of OS&E will need to be a strategic leader with strong communications and organizational skills. A proven track record of successful project management through the application of relentless attention to detail, administrative excellence, and strong financial acumen will be essential for this position. 

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Division Head (e.g. Director of Rooms, Resort Manager, Director of Operations) and a thorough understanding of operations in a luxury hotel environment. Previous experience with hotel openings and large scale CapEx projects will be beneficial. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Openings & Transitions with a dotted line to the SVP, Openings and Transitions. This position will be based remotely on the East Coast.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done  Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
 

  • Owner Relations: Ability to communicate effectively and independently with ownership groups and asset managers while instilling confidence and garnering trust and respect with all matters related to the oversight and management of OS&E.
  • Leadership Skills: A proven leader of multi-channel teams, with experience of managing disparate teams across geographies and putting in place rigorous KPIs and processes to generate measurable business results while driving projects / tasks to completion.

  • Operational Wherewithal: Minimum 8 years in a senior hotel operational role, preferably in Rooms Division or Food & Beverage, with active involvement in CapEx projects, openings, or transitions.  Ability to understand business issues and operations in terms of proforma, costs, profit, customer and service expectations.  

  • Sound Financial Acumen and Analytical Skills: Ability to read and interpret financial statements, create ROI models, budgets and forecasts, cadence in reporting and make necessary adjustments to meet financial targets. The ability to analyze and interpret data to convert into models for decision making and high level review by senior stakeholders for each opening or transition.

  • Spatial Mapping: Ability to read blueprints and map out the Property Program Detail to build out key components with our OS&E budgets. Design and assist with implementation of spatial mapping for functional areas such as Housekeeping Storage Rooms, Reception Desks, Communication Pods, Service Stations, and Banquet Facilities.

  • Scheduling and Project Management: Strong organizational skills, with a specific focus on coordinating multi-faceted projects across multiple departments and teams. Schedule and lead project meetings, while collaborating with key stakeholders such as the Project Manager, Procurement Agent, Hotel General Manager, and the Openings & Transitions Team.

  • Data Input and Administration: Ability to focus and commit to accurate data input across several platforms, templates, and programs. Understanding of “real life” OS&E quantity requirements to effectively operate in a luxury environment. 

  • Design and Style Curiosity: A natural interest for design and ability to seek out artisans, tastemakers, vendors that are locally relevant and produce custom driven OS&E that aligns with the overall language and design direction of the project. 

  • Networking: Networks and continues to build relationships of producers, manufactures, trade partners etc. to support our positioning of one-of-a-kind and unique OS&E.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate methodically and effectively both verbally and in writing with various stakeholders including ownership. Influence stakeholders with the objective to ensure steady progress of the project and OS&E process.

  • Problem Solving Skills: Pragmatic, “problem-solving” approach when dealing with challenges, coupled with the ability to evolve thinking. 

Attention to Detail: A passionate focus on getting it right! Down to the smallest details of any project. The ability to filter everything that comes across for accuracy and formatted to the appropriate service deliverable and property positioning.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders, including ownership and senior management

  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years as a Division Head in a luxury hotel environment

  • Prior experience with project management, including hotel openings and transitions

  • Knowledge of architecture and design  is beneficial
