AvtechTyee’s Design Engineering team is searching for a Engineering Project Manager to be responsible for defining and driving the successful delivery of projects. Our team works across our Audio and Avionics business lines to enable efficient and effective execution of project deliverables. In this role, you will work directly with our engineering and production teams to make our product plans a reality. You will be responsible for refining processes and leading the seamless delivery of our aerospace products to ensure that the Engineering team is enabled to run as smoothly as possible. Your day-to-day may look like:
  • You will Lead Electrical Engineering project(s) that will include:
    • Craft and implement project plans, establish control procedures, and flexibly adapt to ensure project goals are met.
    • Collaborate closely with our lead engineers, design team, and senior project managers to manage project scope, schedules, and budgets.
    • Develop and manage frameworks to track project progress, mitigate risks, and proactively address challenges.
    • Champion process improvements and engineer solutions to project-related issues while achieving objectives.
    • Coordinate meetings, manage document control with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, including responses and reports to stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure project deliverables are met and proactively address obstacles.
    • Partner with manufacturing engineering to ensure design for manufacturability and contribute to development of detailed procedures.
    • Develop schedule and budget; manage and report progress and report key project metrics
    • Track and manage changes in requirements and deliverables
  • Partner with manufacturing engineering and contribute to development of detailed procedures.
  • Respond to unexpected changes to ensure integration activities stay on schedule, on budget, and are completed with high-quality and documented build pedigree.
  • Coordinate with procurement, internal and external manufacturing to ensure that hardware priorities are well understood and are actively managed to support the need dates.
What you’ll Need to Succeed:
  • B.S./B.A. in engineering or other relevant technical field.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in the aerospace industry and 5 years of relevant experience in a project/program management role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in planning and organizing complex technical projects using earned value management.  PMP a plus.
  • Experience throughout the entire hardware project lifecycle including but not limited to: concept, requirements, design, qualification, certification, and new product introduction.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean principles and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience with airworthiness, safety and DO-254.  Knowledge of TSO and PMA application process.
  • Experience with aerospace DO-178 software development preferred

The target wage/salary range for this role is $100k - $130K, depending on education and experience.
