As a Warehouse – Shipping Clerk 1 or 2, you will be responsible for the packaging and shipping activities in accordance with postal regulations, government, commercial and other customer specifications.   You will be part of a fast-paced Warehouse Operations team that will support the Production disciplines to ensure that our quality and processes are able to ensure that current and new products to are delivered to the market with success. In this role, you will be responsible for owning and implementing changes to manufacturing processes and products, ensuring the accuracy of engineering data and managing product cost data and analysis. A Day-in-the-life for this role:
  • Verify accuracy of shipments against pick lists, sales orders, bills of lading, and invoices or other records
  • Maintain necessary records and files of transactions accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Accurately create and promptly communicate purchase orders to outside processors
  • Verify and perform purchase order receipts from vendors in ERP system
  • Perform cycle counts efficiently and coordinate/ensure inventory accuracy measures
  • Define stock locations to best advantage for efficiency and accessibility
  • Facilitate communication between Avtechtyee and customers, outside processors, transporters, suppliers
  • Route WIP, raw materials and packaging materials to proper department or work center
  • Access and maintain accurate shipment information on secure customer portals
  • Determine appropriate methods and specifications of packaging to comply with contractual agreements
  • Coordinate shipping transactions and ensure on time delivery
  • Instruct and/or assist in preparing merchandise for shipment and arranging transportation
  • Monitor shipping supplies and re-order as needed
Experience you will bring to the role:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 0-3+ years’ experience as a shipping clerk
Extras, you would bring to the role:
  • Experience working with LTLs, Freight Forwarders, UPS, FedEx and DHL
  • Experience operating standard shipping and packaging equipment
  • Basic computer skills – email, and Microsoft Suite
  • Familiarity with Epicor, Avante ERP system a benefit, but not required
  • Familiarity with FTC and International Trade Laws
  • Strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision; ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly master new business knowledge and technical skills
The target wage/salary range for this role is $21.00 - $25.00, depending on education and experience.
