We’re hiring a hands-on Warehouse Prototype Assistant with strong metal fabrication and welding skills to support the design and production of store prototypes and retail displays. If you’re a reliable team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building from scratch, this is the opportunity for you.
 

As a Prototype Assistant, you’ll work under the Prototype Supervisor to help fabricate, assemble, and complete high-quality prototypes using a variety of materials, primarily metal. You’ll split your time between welding and other fabrication methods including painting, woodwork, and plastics. Your work directly supports the innovation of new store displays and retail fixtures for a nationally recognized apparel brand.
 

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless and cold-rolled steel.

• Operate fabrication equipment such as laser cutters and brake presses.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, assembly blueprints, and job material lists.

• Assist in fabricating with wood, plastic, and other materials as needed.

• Maintain a clean and safe prototype area in accordance with safety standards.

• Collaborate with the Prototype Lead and Engineering Manager to ensure product accuracy.

• Support sample quality control (QC) by adjusting prototypes based on feedback.

• Follow the company’s Sample SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).

• Be prepared to step in and support the Prototype Supervisor when needed.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
   

• 6+ months of hands-on experience in metal manufacturing or fabrication.

• Formal training through a technical/trade school or equivalent experience preferred.

• Ability to read and interpret assembly prints, blueprints, and engineering documents.

• Proficient in the operation of welding tools and forklifts.

• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.

• Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and standing or sitting for extended periods.

• Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (hot/cold conditions).

• Excellent time management, communication, and teamwork skills.
