Summary:

Responsible for the timely and accurate verification of all medication orders and safely preparing medications and other pharmaceuticals for dispensing to patients. Researches, educates, and communicates drug information to physicians, house staff, nurses, healthcare providers, and patients/families. Knowledgeable of automated medication dispensing processes/reports and adheres to all applicable departmental and hospital policies/procedures.

Required Qualifications:

Experience:
  • One to two year’s hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Experience with computer operations, unit dose drug dispensing systems, IV admixture and parenteral chemotherapy admixture experience preferred.
Education and Training:
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited college or pharmacy.
  • License, Certification & Registration:
  • MAPHARM - Licensed MA Pharmacist.
Other Requirements:
  • Must demonstrate ability to work independently, without direct supervision required, within established policy.
  • Must be capable of supervising the work of support personnel.
