Job Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is primarily responsible for the total care of assigned clients in their unit. Key duties include assessment, reassessment, establishing nursing diagnoses, formulating care plans, implementing care, and evaluating outcomes. The RN also provides health care education to clients and their families, supports the goals of  the Department of Nursing, and leads the nursing team to maintain high standards of care. This role involves supervising both licensed and non-licensed nursing staff. The position requires schedule flexibility, including working all shifts, weekends, and holidays, to ensure continuous and appropriate patient care. The RN provides care to all patient populations, considering age and diagnosis-specific needs.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
  • Associate’s degree
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current Alabama RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
Required Skills:
  • Ability to function in stressful situations.
  • Verbal ability to present information and ideas related to nursing theory and practice.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and accountability to provide, delegate, and coordinate nursing care provided on assigned units as required with leadership qualities.
  • Cognitive and practical ability to provide nursing care appropriate to the patient population assigned, considering the client's age and diagnosis.
  • Ability to fully implement the nursing process, including assessment/reassessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
