Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients, utilizing advanced nursing skills and knowledge to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the ICU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing life-support equipment.
- Assessment & Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' conditions, develop individualized care plans, and adjust treatments as necessary.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care.
- Documentation: Accurately document all patient care activities, changes in condition, and communications with the healthcare team in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including code blue scenarios, performing advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and other life-saving interventions.
- Patient Advocacy: Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring that their needs and concerns are addressed with compassion and respect.
- Education: Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding illness management, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as regulatory standards and guidelines for ICU nursing practice.
- Professional Development: Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Associate of Science Degree in Nursing or higher
- Minimum of 1 year Critical Care Experience
- Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse Licensure
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- CMSRN certification within 2 years of hire
