Job Summary:

We are looking for a committed and experienced psychiatrist to lead the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Training Program. The role demands 40% dedication to the fellowship, managing recruitment, curriculum development, and ACGME compliance. The Director will also deliver clinical services at the children's hospital and the outpatient clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Administration:

  • Oversee the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Training Program.
  • Manage recruitment, evaluation, and selection of fellows.
  • Set and monitor training program goals and objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to ACGME/Residency Review Committee standards.

Curriculum and Evaluation:

  • Create and implement a system for curriculum evaluation.
  • Assess trainee progress and competencies, provide feedback, and maintain records.
  • Develop and communicate training program policies and procedures annually.

Faculty Development:

  • Evaluate and support faculty performance.
  • Provide development programs for faculty and support their roles as educators and supervisors.

Collaboration and Compliance:

  • Lead the Education Policy Committee and Fellowship Admissions Sub-Committee.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, ACGME, and Residency Review Committee standards.
  • Collaborate with other program directors to support training programs.

Clinical Supervision and Teaching:

  • Offer direct clinical supervision and participate in didactic and clinical conferences.
  • Teach and supervise residents and fellows, and provide lectures for medical students.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric consultation and liaison services in the Emergency Department and medical floors at Hospital for Children.
  • Deliver direct patient care at the outpatient clinic.
  • Serve a patient population primarily consisting of children and adolescents, with some adult patients.

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with completed ACGME or AOA accredited residency in psychiatry and accredited fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania.
  • Prior experience as program director or associate training director is highly desirable.
  • Eligible for appointment to the faculty at least at the level of Assistant Professor.
  • Strong interpersonal, clinical, and team-building skills.
  • Knowledgeable in multiple psychotherapeutic approaches.
  • Research experience preferred.
