Title: Respiratory Therapist

Summary:
We are seeking dedicated Respiratory Therapists for three available positions: 1 day shift and 2 night shifts. Each shift is 12 hours, typically spanning 3 days a week, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment, including mechanical ventilators
  • Assist with patient transportation as needed
  • Perform blood gas drawing, analysis, and interpretation
  • Manage artificial airways
  • Administer aerosolized drugs and oxygen therapy
  • Provide CPAP and bilevel CPAP therapy
  • Conduct pulse oximetry and pulmonary function testing
  • Implement incentive spirometry and chest physiotherapy
  • Assess and educate patients
  • Communicate effectively with other departments
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and disinfection
  • Maintain quality control of equipment
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance Program and in-service education

Key Requirements:

  • Obtain State of Vermont Respiratory Therapy Licensure before the start date.
  • Associate degree from an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program.
  • Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist or eligibility to take the NBRC written examination within one year of hire.
  • Reliable transportation due to limited public transit options.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
  • At least one year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to work independently.
