We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join a dynamic cardiology team. In this role, you will perform echocardiograms under the guidance of the clinical provider and the Practice Manager. This role plays a vital part in ensuring high-quality patient care, working closely with both the Medical Director and other medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform echocardiography services in line with the standards set by the American Society of Echocardiography and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Oversee the technical operation of the echo laboratory.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes, prioritizing trauma and critically ill patients.
- Execute ultrasound techniques that ensure the highest quality imaging for diagnosis.
- Guide and position patients for echocardiograms and explain procedures clearly.
- Comply with all hospital and cardiology department policies, including the facility's compliance program.
- Manage the backup of echocardiogram studies and copy studies to discs when needed.
- Maintain accurate records, statistics, and other required documentation.
- Keep equipment in working order and ensure an adequate supply of necessary materials.
- Participate in continuous professional education and attend cardiology department meetings.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- RDCS certification from ARDMS, CCI, or CRCS from CARDUP (must be obtained within one year of hire).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Three years of experience in echocardiography or equivalent education and training.
